The Human Resource Generalist is an integral part of the human resource team and will interact closely with front-line employees and our operations team. In this role, you will perform both administrative and strategic activities. The HR generalist represents both the employee and the company, and provides assistance to the HR business Partner when necessary. The HR generalist will also have the crucial task of complying with all local, state, and federal regulations for HR. The ideal candidate will be organized, experienced, and a dedicated strategist and planner.

Role Responsibilities:

The position requires effective leadership and business execution for the following key focus areas. Additional responsibilities may be added as the needs of the business change and expand:

  • Records and maintains Company unemployment claims on unemployment claim log
  • Sets up unemployment claim reporting on line for each state Transcom does business in
  • Appeals all unemployment claims in a timely manner
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements and conducts new hire orientation.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Answer employee questions and addresses employee concerns with company; including employee safety, welfare, wellness and health
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law and recommended best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

To qualify for this role you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least two year of human resource experience is preferred.
  • SHRM-CP a plus.

  • Degree in Human Resources, Communication, Human Relations, Organizational Development, or relevant field
  • It will help if you are familiar with ADP, SAP, KRONOS, and the BPO industry
