The Girls Who Code Work Prep program is a three week program for college-aged women and non-binary participants who are pursuing careers in the tech industry. Designed to build career skills and confidence, Work Prep offers participants practical, hands-on experience with a specific company’s unique technology, processes, employees, and culture. Participants virtually engage in synchronous sessions two times a week that give them a deep dive into different topics and technical experiences and then complete asynchronous tasks in between sessions. This program is intended to spark participants’ professional growth.

The Work Prep Coordinator, along with the Work Prep Lead, will be responsible for managing a Work Prep cohort of up to 120 participants. Coordinators will support the onboarding of participants two weeks out from the Kick-Off Event, provide Zoom and logistical support to participants and corporate partners, and be responsible for administrative tasks, including tracking attendance and assignment submissions, reporting session observations, and sending reminders.

This is a part time (up to 20 hours per week), remote, temporary position starting mid-March and ending as late as the end of November.

Key Dates

In-session times and dates for each program are currently TBD, but typically occur on the same day and time for three weeks. Coordinators will work together with a Work Prep Lead on multiple Work Preps throughout the year.

The average workload for this position will be approximately 2-4 hours each day with a combination of administrative tasks, prep, check ins and synchronous sessions.

Aside from the synchronous in-session dates, Coordinators will be expected to attend short check-ins on Mondays and Fridays along with weekly meetings with corporate partners. All other tasks will be asynchronous.
