- Work closely with Sales, Underwriting, Processing, and Closing teams
- Production expectation of reviewing roughly 14 to 16 condition files per day
- Fast paced environment with tight turn times and quality standards
What You’ll Do
- Review credit, employment, income, assets, and financial documentation to clear conditions set by the Credit Underwriter
- Confirm that documentation meets investor, agency, FHA, VA, USDA, HUD, HFA, and internal guidelines
- Communicate with internal partners and external TPO partners when items cannot be cleared or need clarification
- Stay current on investor and agency guideline changes and UHM overlays
- Verify that loan terms, product type, documentation, and data align with all requirements before final approval
- Maintain strong quality control ratings and help reduce risk while still giving borrowers the best chance at sustainable homeownership
- Support loan officers, broker partners, and clients with scenarios and explanation of conditions when needed
- Join departmental huddles and participate in trainings and market update sessions to keep your skills sharp
What You Need
- Three to five years of experience in prefunding QC, underwriting help desk, senior processing, or a similar condition clearing role
- Complete working knowledge of the mortgage business and underwriting flow
- Experience with FHA, VA, USDA, and Agency loans
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent mortgage industry experience
- Hands on experience with Encompass LOS or similar loan origination systems
- Strong analytical skills, especially around credit risk and condition decisioning
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and comfort explaining complex requirements
- High attention to detail, strong personal organization, and the ability to manage strict deadlines
- Comfort using financial and quantitative data in day to day work
