What You’ll Do
- Take incoming medication-related calls and gather key information using scripting and the EMR
- Answer medication questions, resolve issues, and support prior authorization needs
- Approve prescription refills for pre-specified maintenance meds under a collaborative practice agreement
- Review patient medication profiles for contraindications, sensitivities, duplications, and major interactions
- Complete clinical reviews using refill authorization protocols and current clinical guidelines
- Use clinical judgment to determine if additional info is needed before authorizing refills
- Document patient encounters in the electronic medical record
- E-prescribe approved refills to the appropriate pharmacy and notify patients
- Help create and update scripts and documentation materials
- Support access, quality of care, and patient satisfaction goals
What You Need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (required)
- PharmD/Doctoral Degree (preferred)
- Licensed Pharmacist (Pennsylvania) within 90 days (required expectation)
- Strong teamwork skills
- Comfort working in a clinical, protocol-driven environment with high accountability
