Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 per year. You are eligible to a Short-Term Incentive Plan with the target at 7.5% of your annual earnings, terms and conditions apply.
Sr. Clinical Research Specialist (REMOTE:USA)
Job Overview:
As stewards of a vast data- and knowledge-base, Ambry believes in leading and participating in research projects with a goal of improving the field of genetics and the lives of the patients we serve. The successful Sr. Clinical Research Specialist main role in fulfilling this goal is to conduct and facilitate research projects that are both self-initiated and driven as well to support collaborations in partnership with members of other Ambry scientific departments and with external collaborators who use Ambry data and expertise.
The specialist is responsible for supporting Ambry’s strategic roadmap as it relates to research around technological advances in partnership with scientists in Research & Development. The Specialist will also work cross-functionally with other members of the Clinical Research team, the Clinical Strategy Managers and the Field Teams to identify and vet research projects. By using their scientific and research expertise and knowledge of Ambry data they will influence the study design, determine the feasibility and resource requirements, and gauge the value, quality, and appetite for proposed research projects. They will foster relationships with our collaborators, ensure the responsible use and interpretation of data, and engender accountability and are responsible for the progress of the research projects in their portfolio.
Essential Functions:
- Drive research projects in collaboration with R&D that support our strategic road map for technology advancements
- Adhere to projected publication deadlines as relates to the strategic roadmap
- Oversee the collaborative process throughout the duration of each project
- Be accountable for and document the progress of projects in their research portfolio including the completion of research milestones according to projected timelines
- Recognize, engender and execute high-impact research projects
- Prepare and/or review abstracts, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications
- Foster relationships with potential collaborators and key opinion leaders in the field of genetics/genomics
- Work cross-departmentally to help other clinical teams realize their own research goals
- Participate in conferences and external committees to further Ambry’s position as thought leaders is the field of genetics
- Prioritize efforts based on urgency for sharing data, and feasibility with internal infrastructure
- Support the Clinical Research team with high-level administrative and professional development tasks

Qualifications:

- Education:
- PhD in a field related to clinical genetics with a track record of publications -or-
- Master’s degree in a relevant field with a strong publication record and direct experience in clinical genetics research and/or genetic laboratory technologies and services -or-
- Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience
- Skills:
- Knowledge of the scientific process including hypothesis generation, data gathering and analysis including at least baseline biomedical statistical models, scientific writing and publication of results
- Superior organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent writing abilities
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP)
- Knowledge of or direct experience with Internal Review Board (IRB) and Research Operations (e.g. contracting, consenting patients, etc.)
- Experience with public speaking
- Effective presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines based on urgency and need
- Knowledge or direct experience with genetic testing technologies including long read sequencing, RNA sequencing and whole genome sequencing
- Experience:
- At least 6 years prior experience in genetics services, product management, and/or clinical research.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.
