Job Title: Special Projects Associate

About the Role:
Alpaca, a leading brokerage infrastructure technology company headquartered in California, is seeking a Special Projects Associate to work directly with the CEO on high-priority initiatives, with an initial focus on projects in Japan. This role is ideal for a bilingual (English and Japanese) professional with 3-5 years of experience in project management, business operations, or consulting, who thrives in fast-paced environments and is eager to take ownership of impactful projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Project Management: Plan, budget, and execute high-priority initiatives aligned with Alpaca’s strategic goals, including business development, marketing, and operational improvements.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as a liaison between global teams and Japan-based stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and project execution.
- Event Coordination (First 90 Days Priority): Lead the planning, budgeting, and execution of high-profile corporate events in Japan to strengthen industry relationships and market presence.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies, propose solutions, and implement improvements to workflows and operations.
- Research & Analysis: Conduct research, prepare quantitative reports, and support executive decision-making.
Who You Are:
- Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in both English and Japanese.
- Experience: 3-5 years in project management, business operations, or consulting at startups, investment banks, or similar environments.
- Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills; ability to multitask and execute under pressure; detail-oriented and proactive.
- Adaptability: Fast learner with the ability to adopt new technologies and tools.
- Motivation: Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
