Summary:
The ROC Technical Specialist – Tier I (Day Shift) will be responsible for monitoring and performing standard operating procedures for our BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) facilities. This position is the primary contact for operational tickets and escalations to higher-level support as appropriate. The role focuses on basic monitoring for critical alerts, basic operational interventions, and ticket handling.

- Tuesday to Saturday
- 6:00am – 2:30pm Pacific Time
Job Details:
- Remotely monitor and troubleshoot basic operational activities and take corrective action measures as needed.
- Respond to technical/operational support tickets (via phone, email, or through the ticketing system) per standard operating procedures. Escalating support needs as required.
- Review BESS performance, generate field issue worklists or work orders for preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Perform standard interventions and maintain standard operations guidelines for the BESS.
- Maintain system logs such as field issues, system operations performed, system maintenance, outages, changes in operating status, any other significant events, and exchange information with others as necessary.
- Support site inspection and maintenance needs, communicating with stakeholders, engineering, Field Service Technicians, Project Managers, and coordinators while providing excellent customer services.
- Respond to customers with findings from our internal departments.
- Initiate emergency response procedure according to guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field, or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service and/or call center experience.
- Electrical, PLC programming, instrumentation, automation, and HMI controls background will be considered a strong asset.
- Ability to work a shift schedule, including overtime, holidays, and on-call as needed, with notice. Weekend shifts may be required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Basic knowledge of phone systems is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to read documents such as operating procedures, agreements, etc.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently with a strong sense of accountability.
- Strong communication skills with a willingness to partner on critical issues to solve challenging problems.
- Ability to solve routine problems.
- Ability to identify simple issues and show a willingness to learn and apply analytical thinking skills.
- Passion for continuous learning and improvement.

Compensation for this position is commensurate with location, experience and relevant skills. The National Average Hourly Range is between $25/hour – $29/hour (eligible for overtime + shift differential pay). Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and personal performance.
