Here’s what you’ll be doing:

The Risk Assistant is responsible for providing general administrative support to the Risk Management team. The incumbent is expected to maintain confidentiality with regards to sensitive and confidential matters and information.

1. Researches, assigns, and tracks completion of continuing education courses for travelers.

2. Completes intake and initial calls for all workers’ compensation-related claims (COVID and Non COVID).

3. Completes unemployment claims when prompted in ValeU NSN Portal.

4. Uses templates and checklists to enter information into the risk management platform.

5. Gathers information for Nursing Pool Licenses (NPL).

6. Processes notifications of injuries and maintains communication with risk specialist.

7. Provides administrative support (i.e, preparing and distributing meeting minutes, preparing reports) for Emergency Management and Risk Management.

8. Provides workers’ compensation reporting instructions to travelers, as needed.

9. Runs Wage statement report in Domo, when requested. Completion of Wage form to be sent to Specialist for review.

10. Maintains workers’ compensation records, including the payroll worksheet.

11. Facilitates email notifications to internal teams, as appropriate.

Other duties as assigned

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), required
  • At least one year of related workers’ compensation experience, required
  • Experience with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Professional telephone demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • General knowledge of workers’ compensation claims procedures and policies
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent grammar, composition and proofreading skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
