Schedule
- Full-time, remote role
- Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm EST
- Residency required in PA, DE, GA, MI, NC, TX, NJ, or FL
What You’ll Do
- Manage an assigned book of Medicaid payer accounts, serving as the subject matter expert
- Follow up on outstanding claims to ensure resolution within payer timelines
- Review, analyze, and appeal denied or underpaid claims per payer policies
- Identify trends in denials and escalate issues to management as needed
- Communicate with insurance companies via phone, portals, or written correspondence
- Document claim activity accurately for tracking and audit purposes
- Monitor timely filing limits and authorization processes to ensure compliance
- Submit corrected claims or reconsiderations as appropriate
- Collaborate with care managers (minimal direct patient contact)
What You Need
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management, especially A/R follow-up
- Medicaid and Managed Care Organization experience a plus
- Knowledge of claim lifecycles, payer policies, and denial management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce/Waystar experience preferred
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment
