What You’ll Do
- Handle inbound and outbound calls using established protocols, focusing on first call resolution
- Support patients across multiple channels while protecting confidentiality
- Use EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or similar) to research and resolve account questions
- Explain patient statements, EOBs, balances, payment plans, and related billing questions in plain language
- Use healthcare terminology knowledge (HIPAA, PCI, CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, DRGs, UB04, HCFA, authorizations/referrals) to guide accurate resolution
- Research quickly using resources and FAQs to keep pace in a high-volume environment
- Participate in training and development opportunities
- Support new hires through mentoring, training reinforcement, and 90-day evaluation input
What You Need
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare call center environment
- Comfortable navigating EMR systems and working across multiple tools while on calls
- Strong communication skills with a patient-first tone and attention to detail
