Cochlear, a global leader in implantable hearing solutions, is seeking a Recipient Account Collections Specialist to join its Reimbursement & Insurance Services team. In this remote, full-time role, you’ll support patients across the Americas by managing account balances, resolving billing issues, and providing compassionate service. 📋 What You’ll Own
• Review and resolve outstanding patient balances
• Communicate directly with patients to explain accounts and collect payments
• Process payments, send invoices, offer payment plans, and update account info
• Handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism
• Place and release credit holds, flag accounts for third-party collections
• Participate in phone and case queues, manage patient communications
• Maintain compliance with all federal and state collection guidelines
• Adjust balances and initiate financial hardship requests when appropriate
• Collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, mission-driven team
🎯 Must-Have Traits
• 5+ years of medical billing/collections experience
• Strong knowledge of A/R, claims processes, and third-party payer practices
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance guidelines
• Understanding of Explanations of Benefits (EOBs)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word)
• Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• U.S. work authorization required
