Job description

We’re TeeTurtle, a rapidly growing eCommerce/consumer products company that creates nerdy toys, games, apparel, and accessories. We are looking for an organized and efficient Purchasing Specialist to join our amazing team!

The goal of the Purchasing Specialist role is to manage and diversify TeeTurtle’s supply chain and conduct all necessary coordination to ensure inventory is ordered, tested, shipped, and arrives on time to meet customer demand. This role is a full time exempt position and reports to the Supply Chain Manager. This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with all vendors within TeeTurtle’s product development supply chain to ensure timely purchase and receipt of inventory;
• Troubleshoot and provide resolutions for quality and shipping issues and keep internal stakeholders informed of changes that may affect critical deadlines by ensuring the Active PO document is current and updated at all times;
• Establish and maintain positive business relationships with all international suppliers and manufacturers to ensure a reliable and flexible supply chain;
• Source new vendors and manufacturers and provide business-appropriate recommendations for sourcing solutions and supply chain diversification to the Supply Chain Manager;
• Coordinate with factories to ensure all needed raw materials are available as needed to ensure timely production;
• Partner with Product Development to secure samples for new items, and to ensure correct files are provided to factories with each purchase order placed;
• Conduct research on safety and packaging requirements and coordinate safety tests to minimize costly errors and maintain compliance with all required product safety regulations and standards;
• Communicate rolling forecasts and updates to suppliers to keep external production processes flowing and ensure timely delivery;
• Work with freight forwarders to secure international air and sea freight bookings to ensure timely delivery of inventory while minimizing shipping costs;
• Track purchase order and shipment statuses and provide timely updates to allow for planning by our Warehouse, Marketing, and Wholesale teams;
• Manage assigned SKUs to ensure they are available on the website for purchase as scheduled by the Marketing team;
• Act as liaison between international distribution partners and factories to ensure customer expectations are met and timelines aren’t delayed;
• Monitor on hand inventory in all TeeTurtle warehouses to ensure appropriate quantities are assigned to each cost center;
• Ensure that all current factories are tested annually to ensure safety and working conditions meet or exceed TeeTurtle expectations;
• Monitor all assigned SKUs to ensure that obsolete inventory is liquidated and overstocks are identified and managed;
• Partner with our Wholesale Team to ensure TeeTurtle games and accessories are available, as needed, for new and existing accounts;
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or related field or commensurate experience
• 2+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, procurement, or distribution
• 3-5 years of experience in international buyer and vendor relations highly desirable
• Experience in a fast-paced, hypergrowth environment
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Comfort working in cross-functional teams
• Tech-savviness, a high level of productivity, and resourcefulness in utilizing whatever tools are at hand
• Ability to analyze data and identify relevant trends to make business-appropriate recommendations
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and unexpected situations
• Proficiency in Exenta or other similar IMS/ERP/WMS system
• Proficiency with Google Docs and Sheets or Microsoft Word and Excel

Salary Range: 40-45k, depending on experience
