Please note, you must have recent (within the last year) construction accounting experience and advanced MS Excel to qualify.
Responsibilities:
– Financial Tracking and Reporting:
– Monitor project budgets, expenses, and cash flows to ensure adherence to financial goals and timelines.
– Prepare regular financial reports and forecasts for project stakeholders.
– Cost Analysis:
– Conduct detailed analysis of project costs, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed.
– Collaborate with project managers to optimize cost efficiency and profitability.
– Invoicing and Billing:
– Coordinate with clients and internal teams to prepare accurate and timely invoices.
– Ensure compliance with contract terms and billing requirements.
– Accounts Receivable/Payable:
– Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes related to project activities.
– Monitor payment schedules and follow up on overdue invoices.
– Project Documentation:
– Maintain organized project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and purchase orders.
– Assist in the preparation of project closeout documents and financial summaries.
– Budget Planning:
– Assist in the development and monitoring of project budgets.
– Provide input and analysis to support budget planning and forecasting activities.
– MS Excel Proficiency:
– Utilize advanced MS Excel skills to analyze financial data, create reports, and develop financial models.
– Automate processes and improve efficiency through Excel functions and formulas.
– Communication and Collaboration:
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, engineers, and clients.
– Communicate effectively to ensure alignment on financial objectives and project milestones.
– Ad Hoc Analysis and Support:
– Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support as requested by management.
– Assist in special projects and initiatives to improve financial processes and controls.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in accounting in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, including advanced functions and formulas.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
