Procurement Specialist
Department Mission & Position Function
The mission of the procurement function is to support EDF’s long-term success and sustainable growth by establishing strategic thinking in all procurement efforts, resulting in responsible stewardship of organizational resources, streamlining of business processes, and a combination of quality, flexibility, innovation, and diverse, sustainable suppliers.
In this newly developed role, the Procurement Specialist will help shape the future of EDF’s strategic procurement. Reporting to the Director of Procurement, the Procurement Specialist’s primary function will be to provide expert administrative support related to activities related to procuring goods and services for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the administrative procurement process including supplier onboarding, document retention, communications, and scheduling of reviews.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of a supplier, contract, and order management system.
- Assist the Procurement Director with maintaining current, up-to-date procurement documents and policies.
- Support the preparation of RFPs and coordination of release and collection of responses.
- Research potential suppliers.
- Conduct market research to identify pricing trends.
- Act as the internal point-of-contact for questions regarding procurement and suppliers.
- Prepares periodic reports related to purchasing, supplier management, and contract management.
- Participates in advancing EDF DEI goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values.
- Work on relevant special projects as needed.
- Additional relevant responsibilities as assigned.
Job Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related field (or equivalent) and 3 years of professional experience. A Master’s degree may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.
- Excellent organizational, technology, and multitasking skills.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Basic knowledge of procurement processes and procurement categories.
- Basic knowledge of ERP, P2P, SRM, and CMS.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required. Formula knowledge in Excel a plus.
- Demonstrated self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Minimum Salary
USD $56,000.00/Yr.
Maximum Salary
USD $63,000.00/Yr.
