What You’ll Do
- Gather documentation and move each loan file from pre-approval through closing
- Enter and update accurate loan information in the system for processing
- Ensure all loan documentation is complete, verified, and in line with company policies and guidelines
- Review files and request any missing items needed for underwriting
- Verify key documents such as income, bank statements, credit reports, tax transcripts, VOEs, and purchase agreements
- Prepare loan applications for submission to underwriting
- Work on and clear conditions for loans coming out of underwriting
- Maintain an active pipeline of roughly 45–50 loans at any given time
- Meet crucial internal and external deadlines to keep transactions on track
- Participate in weekly status meetings with loan officers and disclose any change of circumstances within compliance guidelines
What You Need
- At least 2 years of mortgage processing experience with Government and Conventional loans using DU/LP
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with loan officers, underwriters, and borrowers
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and self-manage in a fast-paced, remote environment
- High attention to detail and comfort handling multiple files at once
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with loan origination systems (Encompass experience is a plus)
- Experience with Housing Finance Agency (HFA) loans preferred
