What You’ll Do
- Apply daily customer payments (mail, bank lockbox, electronic funds transfers, credit cards) to the correct accounts based on remittance instructions
- Reconcile, research, and follow up on payments that are missing or unclear application details
- Prepare and balance daily bank deposits, checking for accuracy and resolving discrepancies
- Respond to internal and external written communication in a professional, timely way
- Meet deadlines related to month-end close and reporting responsibilities
- Assist with updating and improving documentation for payment posting policies and procedures
- Support continuous improvement by flagging issues, suggesting fixes, and helping tighten financial processes
What You Need
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a business-related field preferred
- 1–2 years of clerical experience handling monetary transactions (posting, cash applications, banking, or similar)
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid attention to detail and accuracy when handling numbers
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a broader finance/operations team
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to adapt as processes and business needs evolve
