About the Role:
Quora is at the beginning of one of the most exciting chapters in our company’s history. We’re transitioning to a remote-first culture, with employees working from across the globe, collaborating on our mission to share and grow the world’s knowledge. We’re looking for a highly motivated People Ops Coordinator to help support our employees and our HR team as we continue to scale the company. This role will focus on supporting and growing our mobility program including immigration and relocation matters, as well as other administrative processes managed by the HR team.
Responsibilities:
Employee Mobility
- Manage all aspects of global immigration and work authorization across the US, Canada, Ireland, and any future Quora entities; this includes overseeing I-9 systems, work permits, permanent resident processes and timelines
- Manage and maintain collaborative relationships with existing legal and mobility vendors and any other other immigration partners
- Build and maintain mobility trackers and process documentation regarding international assignment, relocation or transfer programs
- Support international and domestic relocation cases in close collaboration with Legal, Finance, HR, and Recruiting
- Identify opportunities for process efficiency/automation and partner with the People Systems Lead to execute these process change
HR Administrative Support
- Manage and administer employee leaves globally, with a primary focus on US leaves (i.e. FMLA, disability, parental, etc); ensure leave policies are up to date and compliant with state and federal legislation
- Support administrative onboarding and offboarding processes
- Partner with HR colleagues on a variety of team projects (may include employee engagement programs, performance management, etc.)
- Coordinate and manage the relationship with our external leave providers
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to be available for meetings and impromptu communication during Quora’s “coordination hours” (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time). Learn why here
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 1+ years progressive experience in HR and possess a high degree of confidentiality and discretion
- 1+ years progressive experience in immigration and mobility
- Ability to manage a high-volume workload and effectively prioritize multiple competing tasks with attention to detail
- Detail-oriented, organized, and thorough; ability to quickly learn new domain areas and make data-based decisions in ambiguous situations
- Passion for providing a supportive, world-class experience to employees
Preferred Qualifications:
- US I-9 administration experience
- US and/or Canadian immigration experience
- Experience working with an HRIS
- Experience working on projects with a high degree of ambiguity
