This Payroll Administrator opportunity is located in San Francisco, California and is a short-term contract / temporary role. This is a fully remote role, but the ideal candidate will need to be flexible with their work hours and be able to work PST.
Key Responsibilities:
- Updating payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
- Able to reconcile employee deductions and other liabilities
- Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Proper payroll information maintenance by collecting, calculating, and entering data
- Draft relevant year-end reports, as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly ones, for department heads
- Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
- Organize and compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages in order to draft relevant reports
- Provide help with all internal and external audits of payroll
- Manage and review, including verify, source documents
- Handle all payroll information questions and requests
- Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
- Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments
- Ensure employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and confidential information
Requirements:
- Reliable skills in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills
- derstanding of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
- Proven analytical skills – defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
- Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
- Accurate, swift, data entry abilities
- Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred
- Previous experience using accounting software
- Proficient with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
- Knowledge of internal controls
- ADP Workforce Now experience desired
- Relevant experience of 2+ years in payroll
