What You’ll Do
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patient billing questions, insurance issues, and complaints
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits ahead of telehealth appointments with clinical teams
- Help patients understand financial responsibility and payment options
- Resolve billing inquiries and cases in Zendesk quickly and professionally
- Support audits to identify billing discrepancies and trends impacting patients and internal teams
- Assist with intake workflows, including forms, payment collection, scheduling, and EHR updates
- Maintain accurate records in systems (including Athena and EHR tools)
- Follow organizational and regulatory guidelines, safeguarding PHI at all times
- Contribute to cross-functional improvements to streamline billing workflows and elevate patient experience
What You Need
- 2–5 years delivering a strong patient or customer experience (healthcare or similar environment)
- 1–2 years of billing experience (preferred)
- 2+ years of Zendesk experience
- 2+ years of Athena experience
- 2+ years of Google Workspace experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A steady, professional presence on calls and in writing
