STARTING PAY: $19.50/hour
*$.50/hr after 90 days
**$1/hr. after 6 months and annual increases thereafter.
***We also offer a pay differential for the evening, weekend, and overnight shifts.
Given that this shift is an Overnight capacity, you would also be eligible for an Overnight Bonus of up to $1,500. The bonus will be disbursed in three separate checks. The first payment will be paid out at $500.00 on your first payroll check following three months of successful call center work with Rocky Mountain Crisis Partners in the ‘Overnight’ position (training time not included) and the remaining balance every three months after that.

Remote Training and Work: Training and this position will have the option to be 100% remote. Applicants must live in one of our applicable states: Colorado, Kansas, North Carolina, Arizona, Texas, Florida, and Wyoming, and have a HIPPA compliant workspace and reliable internet.
This includes:
Broadband internet with at least 40mb/s download speeds on your own personal internet (i.e. password protected, not shared outside your household internet line; no satellite internet). You must also have the ability to hardline into the router if the WIFI connection is unstable.
A workspace that allows for privacy in not being overheard or the computer screen to be seen, and having at least 1 door between self and others in the house.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Crisis Specialists answer calls for RMCP crisis lines, a suicide prevention hotline in Colorado, RMCP program-specific lines, and RMCP LiveConnect customers. Crisis Specialists rapidly evaluate complex behavioral health situations then develop, recommend, and support appropriate telephonic crisis interventions to be implemented with individual callers, their families, and a wide variety of community helpers, including health care professionals, and law enforcement, and Emergency Medical Services personnel.
MAJOR TASKS:
Receive incoming behavioral health calls from individuals, families, law enforcement, and other community helpers.
Utilize computer for the cloud-based phone system and electronic health record database
Assess situations and behaviors as presented.
Provide suicide, substance use, and homicide risk assessments telephonically.
Counsel, negotiate, mediate, and intervene with callers to defuse crisis intensity and prevent self-harm or harm to others.
Determine and recommend appropriate interventions and deliver crisis interventions.
Provide information and referrals to available community programs, as may be indicated.
Initiate follow-up communication to check on caller welfare and encourage service linkage.
Maintain accurate and current crisis contact documentation; maintain confidentiality.
Support the recovery and strengths of our callers, their families, community helpers, and other RMCP staff members.
Support a positive and effective working environment, representing the organization in a positive way internally and externally.
Participate in individual and group supervisions and complete internal training as required
Engage in quality assurance measures as necessary
Requirements
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, or other related human services degree.
Demonstrated skills and/or knowledge of clinical assessment, crisis intervention techniques, and/or treatment planning
Ability to efficiently learn, maintain and demonstrate mastery of crisis and operational protocols.
Ability to exercise excellent independent judgment with minimal direct supervision. Shows ability to problem solves and be proactive.
Uses an open-minded and non-judgmental approach when working with others
Working in a team approach that is friendly, collaborative, and caller centered
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in using multiple computer applications simultaneously.
Knowledge of substance abuse, mental health, and recovery issues and principles.
Knowledge of issues pertinent to survivors of violence and abuse.
Eagerness for professional and personal growth opportunities.
Responsible for supporting RMCP’s Vision, Mission, Values, and Beliefs by practicing and modeling a culture of wellness within a be no “wrong” doors for accessing these services mindset.
Flexible schedule, availability to work holidays and weekends
Preferred candidates will possess one or more of these attributes:
Knowledge of and experience in the mental health and substance abuse treatment systems of Colorado
1-2 years of experience in a customer service role or call center environment
Credentials as a CAC or LAC.
Post-degree experience in providing emergency mental health services.
Cultural competence in working with a variety of populations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the ability to engage in phone conversations and internal and external meetings. The incumbent must be able to sit for extended periods and have the ability to move about the office by walking or with adaptive equipment. Fine motor skills are required to operate computers, telephones, and other standard office equipment.
The incumbent must have the cognitive ability to correctly interpret speech and written materials in English, use simple arithmetic, create, and use keywords to conduct successful web-based searches.

WORK HOURS:
The Call Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. RMCP strives to create regular schedules for Full-Time employees and Part-Time staff. Staff may also be designated to a PRN (as needed) capacity or pick up advertised shifts in addition to their schedule. Staff is expected to work outside of daytime business hours, including weekends and holidays.
