Oncology Business Manager, Market Access, Palo Alto, California

The Oncology Business Manager- is seen as an individual that exhibits leadership and business strategy skills. OBMs are responsible for establishing, building, and managing business relationships within health systems and community oncology practices with key stakeholders, ensuring access to Jazz Oncology products.

Position Objectives

Develop and execute business plans from having a strong understanding of group purchasing organizations, contracting, health economics, reimbursement/access, and an in-depth understanding of buy and bill and medical benefit models.

Demonstrate experience supporting a business strategy, in an increasingly complex healthcare environment, while adhering to compliance rules.

Have a strong background collaborating/leading with cross-functional partners (both internal and external) executing against Oncology brand objectives and educating on access to Jazz Oncology portfolio.

Understand key GPO stakeholders, both regional and national, representing a broad range of management levels and leveraging compliant methods to understand integrated customer accounts and business models as well as competitive strategies.

Position Jazz Oncology as a preferred partner for current and future initiatives building relationships and connecting interests that support patients.

Position Responsibilities

Strategically identify ways to optimize engagements and maximize resources with strategic oncology accounts. (Community, Health Systems and large Channel Accounts).

Lead the development of account-level strategic plans in collaboration with Regional Sales Managers and their teams on assigned Channel accounts designed to ensure optimal access for Jazz Oncology products.

Have a robust understanding of business of Oncology, Financial barriers, Revenue Cycle Management, Value Proposition, Buy and Bill process, supporting formulary acceptance and the payer environment in multiple sites and channels of care.

Communicates assigned account plans and insights with Channel leadership and cross-functional partners to inform contracting and access strategy for all Channel segments by brand. Ensure critical customer and business insights are communicated and presented to support enhanced strategic and tactical plan evolution and implementation.

Identify, build and manage key business relationships with health systems and community practice oncology decision makers to include, but not limited to, the following: C-Suite, D-Suite, contract education, compliant P&T support, and pharmacy administration.

Collaborate with internal cross-matrix partners to deliver on the Jazz Oncology priorities supporting field-based teams on initiatives and identify competitive threats and develop response strategies to ensure optimal access for products.

Proactively communicate payer policy updates to accounts when necessary.

Educate accounts on any distribution or access issues related to Jazz Oncology products.

Educate office staff regarding patient financial assistance and product access via our patient support services and affordability programs.

Responsibilities also include attending Oncology Professional Organization meetings, National Conferences and Market Access Projects which impact the Market Access Team or business unit.

Work within ethical and compliance policies and ensure those around him/her do the same.

Skills / Competencies required:

Bachelor’s Degree (MBA or Hospital Administration or related field), with 10+ years industry related experience.

3+ years’ experience with Oncology Practice Network accounts/Health Systems or Group Purchasing Organizations

2+ years Field sales leadership experience is a plus with proven ability to collaborate within a cross- matrix team.

Previous experience managing GPO contract education with knowledge to support contract frameworks for both hospital and community oncology practices.

Focused account management knowledge of Oncology and access stakeholders within the Community, Health System and GPO account marketplace

In-depth understanding of hospital in-patient (DRG) and out-patient reimbursement models.

In-depth understanding of health care eco-systems and relationships between hospital and Oncology community practices.

Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record and drug Pathways

Demonstrate deep knowledge of commercial and government reimbursement policies and how they affect the account business model.

Organizational skills & ability to prioritize navigating complex healthcare environments.

Strong written and verbal communication as well as presentation skills.

Travel required up to 40% of your time.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the full and complete base pay range is: $169,600.00 – $254,400.00

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation aligned with the candidate’s expertise and contributions, within the established pay framework and our Total Compensation philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a regular basis.
