What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain a producing broker pipeline within your territory
- Create tactical strategies and a repeatable sales cadence to grow production
- Manage pipeline performance metrics (activity, wallet share, market share)
- Develop forecasts and broker business plans with clear actions
- Work your database hard via phone, email, and direct marketing
- Track everything in CRM and use activity metrics to drive consistent outbound
- Collaborate closely with Ops/Fulfillment to support broker success
- Provide market intel and share best practices internally
- Stay fluent on products, guidelines, and lender updates
- Train/support brokers on Octane
- Deliver presentations over phone/video on Cardinal’s process, products, and tech
- Provide “world class” follow-up and guidance to broker partners
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 1+ year of proven sales experience (high-performance environment preferred)
- Mortgage industry experience is a plus, not required (this is a key difference vs the Regional AE role)
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and closing ability
- Comfort with rejection and consistent outbound activity
- Strong phone skills and the ability to build rapport fast
- Self-starter energy, accountability, and strong organization
- Solid communication skills (written and verbal)

Compensation callout (read this twice)
- Base salary range: $23,000–$37,000 + commission
That’s a draw-level base for most adults. If you can’t realistically clear your needed income through commissions, this role will stress you out fast.
If you want my blunt take: this is the “prove you can sell” lane. If you already have a broker book and want stability, the Regional AE role you sent earlier is the more realistic posting. If you’re newer to mortgage but strong in sales and willing to grind calls, this one fits.
