- Expect significant time away from “the office” meeting clients and referral partners in person (agents, brokers, financial advisors, etc.)
What You’ll Do
- Educate borrowers on Cardinal’s process, values, and available loan options
- Analyze borrower financials, credit, and property details to determine loan feasibility
- Collect and compile credit histories and other required financial documents
- Complete accurate loan applications and ensure loan agreements meet policy and compliance standards
- Maintain confidentiality and stay current on licensing/continuing education
- Work closely with sales, processing, underwriting, closing, and post-closing to drive a smooth borrower experience
- Originate your own business by prospecting and building referral sources
- Meet clients outside the employer’s place of business to initiate sales and nurture referral relationships
- Hit performance goals tied to the division, including:
- Phone and talk time
- Locked loans and funded loans
- Realtor visits
- Applications and credit pulls
- Pull-through rate expectations
- Attendance and punctuality standards
- Adherence to company policies/procedures
What You Need
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1+ year of experience as a Loan Originator (required)
- Active MLO license (SAFE Act) or ability to obtain upon hire; may need multi-state licensing
- Solid mortgage foundation and comfort managing multiple loans at once
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Fast-paced, organized, and able to prioritize competing demands
- Adaptable and able to stay productive through change
