- Requires reliable high speed internet (cable or fiber, at least 100 Mbps down / 25 Mbps up)
What You’ll Do
- Manage day to day operations of the Stop Loss department, including workflow, staffing, systems, and reporting
- Oversee all specific and aggregate claim filings, reimbursements, and advance funding activity
- Track stop loss claims from filing through reimbursement and ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Perform weekly audits of large specific claims and confirm reimbursements were received
- Coordinate reprocessing of claims based on carrier negotiations and contract terms
- File aggregate claims and secure reimbursements as needed
- Request and review reporting for mid year takeover stop loss policies
- Assess and improve processes and procedures to drive efficiency and quality
- Collaborate across departments to align operations with business goals and performance standards
- Lead, coach, and develop your team through one on ones, performance reviews, and growth planning
- Clearly communicate expectations and provide training, tools, and feedback so staff can succeed
- Handle escalations, troubleshoot daily issues, and drive resolution on operational problems
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- At least 5 years of stop loss experience at a TPA or stop loss carrier
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or management role with proven leadership results
- Solid experience with group health insurance and benefits operations
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage teams, workflows, and deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Comfort driving process improvements and holding yourself and others accountable
