About the Position 

A Manager, Regulatory provides resources and support to all client groups with respect to all aspects and needs related to federal and state student financial aid regulations and requirements.  An individual analyzes and interprets the impact of changes to University of Phoenix student financial aid policies, practices and or processes resulting from legislative, regulatory, or federal administrative actions and develops policy and relevant business application for the University.  A Manager, Regulatory ensures all applicable University of Phoenix policies, documents, consumer information and other relevant materials comply with applicable federal and state student financial aid regulations and requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

1. Serve as primary liaison to Student Financial Services Operations and Advisement regarding student aid regulatory matters; provide interpretation and support to client groups regarding implementation of student financial aid changes to policy, practices or processes resulting from legislative, regulatory or federal administrative actions; collaborate with client groups to ensure the most effective student financial aid policy solutions, operational processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable student financial aid requirements while maintaining exceptional student support and service.

2. Develop, maintain, and deploy analyses, reference materials, and policies regarding student financial aid requirements to ensure alignment with federal and state student financial aid regulatory guidance. Provide input and assure information flow to department leadership.

3. Provide federal student aid eligibility approval for all University programs and locations.

4. Provide regulatory guidance and investigative support to the University’s Resolution Services to assist with inquiries from the Department of Education, congressional offices, and/or other escalated or sensitive student issues.

5. Represent the Federal Policy & Reporting team on internal working groups and projects, as assigned to  provide leadership and guidance regarding federal and state student financial aid regulations.

6. Maintain up-to-date student financial aid regulatory knowledge; regularly review and understand the latest related guidelines, regulations, and standards. participate in professional organizations, relevant workshops, seminars, conferences, and events.

7. Select, mentor, coach and evaluate staff; establish and monitor appropriate employee performance objectives; prepare and present employee performance discussions, including one-on-one meetings and quarterly check-ins; implement mentoring and coaching plans, or correction action, where appropriate.

8. Perform other duties as required or apparent.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE: 

• Bachelor’s degree 

• Four (4) years of progressively responsible higher education experience relating to financial aid administration

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Student and/or family financial aid counseling and evaluation of financial aid applications in a university setting

• Solid working and application knowledge of existing student financial aid regulations and an ability to ascertain impacts of regulatory changes

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively manage and resolve complex issues

• Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail

• Exceptional relationship building skills and an ability work effectively across all levels of an organization

• Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to communicate complex student financial aid regulations and requirements to University stakeholders

• Extensive experience effectively and simultaneously supporting multiple stakeholders 

• Able to work independently and meet deliverables and objectives

• Able to create an effective working team in a remote environment and develop staff 

• Working knowledge of Microsoft software perform job responsibilities described above

Pay RangeThe annual pay range for this position is $73,400 (minimum), $110,900 (midpoint), and $148,400 (maximum).**Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.Individuals in this role are eligible for:
