Employees must reside within a reasonable distance to their assigned headquarters for compliance with workplace reporting requirements.Job DescriptionWhat You’ll Do:The Ohio Department of Health is hiring a Program Administrator 2 to serve as the Local Health Department (LHD) Regional Administrator for a variety of difficult administrative duties. This position will independently advises & assist LHDs with accreditation, mergers, consolidation & shared services & addresses emerging needs & public health concerns. Additional duties include:Communicates directives & decisions to LHD partners on behalf of Ohio Department of Health (ODH) leadershipIndependently provides guidance, interprets policy & formulates decisions for LHDsServes as liaison between administrator, ODH staff & LHD staff by developing & interpreting policies/procedures, state & federal guidelines concerning emerging public health needs & public health best practices & concernsAnalyzes & evaluates existing LHD operations, policies & procedures & provides technical advice to aid administrators in decision making regarding LHD initiativesCollects, evaluates, & organizes LHD data & information in support of LHD policy development & process improvementBriefs LHD administrator on findings of research, suggests options for policy direction & makes recommendations that reflect input from multiple sources (e.g., ODH leadership, staff, other state agencies, local health departments, coalitions, task forces, federal partners)Manages business functions & provides support and recommendations to the LHD administratorRepresents ODH on inter-divisional task forces, committees, and coalitionsNormal working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (Flexible Schedule). This is an exempt hourly position, with a pay range of 12 on the E1 Exempt Pay Range Schedule.This position requires the candidate to reside in the northwest region of Ohio where they will serve. Qualifications Position Qualifications: Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.-Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.-Or 4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in business administration management science or public administration.-Or 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 1, 63122.-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
