Coach, drive and lead lean behaviors, principles, and tools by partnering with Operating Leaders in business management and supporting function roles. Drive cultural transformation resulting in step-change in operational business metrics.

Job Description

  • The Lean Operations Leader will serve as a coach, facilitator, and advocate to the Defense and Systems (D&S) team to drive the understanding and adoption of FLIGHT DECK, GE’s proprietary lean operating system. This will be accomplished through:
  • Partnering with the Support Function leaders (eg, HR, Finance, Strategy) to prioritize and solve problems based on voice of the customer and voice of the process.
  • Implementing and coaching the Daily Management process including daily management meetings, Genba walks and Kata coaching cycles.
  • Developing lean proficiency for D&S employees.
  • Delivering step-change performance improvement through the execution of Hoshin Kanri improvement priorities and action planning.
  • Working with colleagues to quickly deploy new, best-practice capability and processes within D&S.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in lean implementation / transformation, preferably in a transactional setting
  • If working remotely and reside outside the Evendale, Ohio area, up to 40% travel required.

Desired Characteristics and Experience:

  • Lean practitioner, capable of facilitating kaizen events and coaching core tools such as Daily Management, structured Problem Solving, and Standard Work.
  • Proven to be effective driving outcomes in large, matrixed organizations – able to influence without direct authority.
  • Experience delivering Hoshin Kanri (HK) breakthrough objectives.
  • Change agent and able to make the case for lean and demonstrate immediate impact.
