About the Role – This is a Service Contract Act (SCA) position.
HomeSafe Alliance is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Booking Coordinator to oversee and support the booking team for military household goods relocations. The Lead Booking Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring smooth coordination between agents, haulers, customers, and various departments, while implementing strategies to enhance operational performance. The role supports the booking team and collaborates with the Booking Manager, who handles higher-level concerns and overall team management.
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Lead and mentor the booking team, fostering a collaborative, service-oriented, and efficient work environment.
- Manage day-to-day booking activities, ensuring agents, haulers, and customers are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
- Serve as the primary contact for resolving complex booking issues and escalations within the booking team.
- Assist in developing and implementing booking strategies to optimize resource allocation and improve customer satisfaction, ensuring operational timelines are met.
- Collaborate with other departments such as dispatch, customer service, and warehouse management to streamline booking processes and improve workflow efficiency.
- Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process flows for booking operations.
- Monitor and evaluate booking processes regularly to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements based on performance metrics.
- Ensure adherence to all contractual requirements, federal regulations, and company policies, particularly in handling military household goods relocations.
- Provide regular reports on booking performance to senior management, highlighting key metrics and improvement initiatives.
- Train and develop booking team members, identifying opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in booking operations to maintain competitive and efficient processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Skills Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Preferred undergraduate degree in related field.
- Minimum 2 years experience in dispatch operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
- Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual requirements.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in booking and logistics management software, with the ability to generate and analyze performance reports.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for creating detailed reports and communications.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools for handling military relocations.
Leadership Skills:
- Proven experience leading a team in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Ability to manage escalations and resolve conflicts efficiently while maintaining strong team morale.
- Strong strategic planning and organizational skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and effectively.
- Experience liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless booking operations.
Work Hours and Scheduling:
- Flexibility and availability required for shift coverage and on-call support during critical booking periods to ensure smooth operations.
