Job Summary:

If so, NVA – one of the largest veterinary and animal care organizations in the world – is looking for a highly creative Internal Communications Junior Associate to join our growing Communications team.
The ideal candidate must be a skilled writer, able to manage multiple projects in support of the communications team, detail-oriented and have outstanding organization skills. This person will work with the entire communications department to provide support and help with a variety of projects. This role is a great way to gain valuable communications skills across multiple channels, both internal and external, and a great way to launch a communications career.
Responsibilities:
- Write and edit content for internal and external channels as directed by members of the communications team.
- Research background information, interview subject matter experts, and seek stakeholder approvals to ensure deliverables accurately reflect desired outcomes.
- Manage and maintain distribution lists for communications channels.
- Organize the work of the communications team and manage a central location for content
- Support communications projects and internal campaigns for other business functions, including people services, business operations, technology services, and more
- Assist in the development of other internal and external communication projects, including announcements, presentations, video scripts, web copy, design management and media lists.
- Help with Intranet content management.
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent writing skills (you can make complex subjects simple and interesting)
- Outstanding editing and proofreading skills (a firm grasp of AP style)
- 0-2 years experience in marketing, communications, or comparable role
- A strong portfolio of work or writing samples with quality references
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English or related subject

Preferred:
- Basic experience with Adobe Creative Suite tools, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator, and content management design
- Experience using email service platforms like Mailchimp or iContact
- Hands-on experience with content management tools (e.g.., WordPress)
