- Collaboration across multiple teams and departments
What You’ll Do
- Research federal and state laws plus agency guidelines to understand and interpret compliance requirements
- Partner with subject matter experts to document business processes clearly and accurately
- Identify operational and regulatory risks and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls
- Design and execute audit testing procedures for key processes and risk areas
- Communicate findings to business units and collaborate on realistic, effective remediation plans
- Draft clear, concise audit reports that leadership can act on
- Follow up on corrective action items to ensure they’re implemented and effective
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 2 years of internal audit experience (financial services or mortgage preferred)
- Experience in or exposure to mortgage operations is a plus
- Strong interviewing skills to draw out details from stakeholders
- Sharp analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail
- Solid organizational skills and ability to manage multiple audits, tasks, and deadlines
- Clear, concise writing skills for reports and documentation
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams
