Schedule
- Full-time, remote position
- Must maintain a minimum of 40 Mbps internet download speed to effectively run SIS systems
Responsibilities
- Work assigned insurance accounts receivable and ensure timely follow-up
- Investigate denials and submit appeals with supporting documentation
- Initiate and track appeals to resolution with insurance carriers
- Communicate directly with insurance representatives as needed
- Apply knowledge of managed care contracts, including fee schedules and allowables
- Handle collections for both participating and non-participating providers
- Identify and resolve problems associated with the insurance collection process
- Maintain accurate records of all collection and appeal activities
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 3 years of healthcare insurance collections or medical billing experience
- Strong knowledge of insurance guidelines, billing practices, and appeals processes
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and payer EOBs
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Proficiency with Windows-based software applications
- Professional attitude and ability to promote a positive company image with patients, insurers, and providers
