What You’ll Do
• Provide accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding for inpatient claims and potentially other chart types
• Analyze medical records and assign codes to the highest level of specificity
• Recognize critical care cases and capture appropriate revenue
• Apply correct sequencing, OPPS/CAH rules, payer-specific guidelines, and official coding guidance
• Identify missing documentation, omitted charges, or inaccuracies
• Maintain 95%+ accuracy and quality metrics
• Communicate professionally with clients and support strong working relationships
• Assist with reports and potentially begin helping with audits
• Maintain one active coding credential (AAPC or AHIMA)
• Adhere to ethical coding standards, HIPAA requirements, and company policies
• Participate in ongoing training and maintain up-to-date reference materials

What You Need
• Current AAPC (CPC/COC) or AHIMA (CCS/CCS-P) certification – CCS strongly preferred
• Minimum 2 years of coding experience
• Advanced knowledge of EMRs, billing systems, and Microsoft Excel/Outlook
• Ability to create basic Excel formulas and pivot tables
• Reliable coding materials (CPT, ICD-10-CM references)
• Ability to independently manage productivity and accuracy expectations
• Strong communication, organization, and decision-making skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and coordinate complex information
• Consistent attendance and remote workstation reliability
