Navient’s wholly owned subsidiary Xtend Healthcare is seeking qualified professionals to fulfill a specific need at one of our key clients of EY (Ernst & Young). THIS IS A FULL-TIME REMOTE POSITION.

EY is looking for a Health Records Clerk to remotely perform analysis on patient financial information while ensuring that HIPAA guidelines for confidentiality are followed. Resourcefully locate and obtain information in the electronic health record system such as copies of scanned insurance cards, discharge summaries, treatment authorization plans and other pertinent billing/insurance information. Accurately pull requested documentation such as detailed charge information or paid remittance advices. Communicate effectively with teammates by notifying them if any issues arise with the research request in a timely fashion.

Over time become adept at multiple EHR platforms. Demonstrate teamwork and ultimately serve as a knowledge resource for coworkers by sharing information regarding the various platforms. Be able to handle multiple requests and respond to questions and inquiries about data availability.

Manage special projects by validating information through calling or using online tools to retrieve specific health provider data.

JOB SUMMARY:

  1. Patient Information Analysis

-Performs research to locate and obtain information in the electronic health record systems of many different hospitals with many different systems. Information can include obtaining copies of scanned insurance cards, discharge summaries, treatment authorization plans and other pertinent billing/insurance information. Pull detailed charge information or paid remittance.

-Locate and track down records across multiple platforms.

-Determine which forms are needed and ensure that they are requested or already provided/completed accurately.

  1. Information Management

-Locate and pull information from complex electronic health record systems

-Download records and record findings onto spreadsheets. Maintain accurate spreadsheets.

-Navigate different databases to track down and store needed information.

  1. Project Work

-Calling or using online tools to retrieve specific health provider data.

-Other duties as assigned.

MUST HAVE:

-Associate degree or higher degree (required)

-A minimum of 2+ years of hospital records related, EHR or related experience

-Intermediate (required) level of proficiency with Word and Microsoft Excel

-Acute attention to detail even while spending large amounts of time on repetitive tasks and strong analytical research skills (required)

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Ability to employ critical thinking skills and work independently while also working well in a team

-Highly adaptable to changing circumstances and/or directives in day-to-day priorities
