Schedule
- Full-time, remote (one location)
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST
- High-volume production environment
- Work involves documenting across multiple platforms using two computer monitors
- Some client environments may require post-offer health screenings and proof or completion of certain vaccinations (exemptions reviewed case-by-case, where applicable)
What You’ll Do
- Receive and process requests for patient health information in line with company and facility policies
- Take calls from patients, insurance companies, and attorneys to support medical record requests and provide medical status as appropriate
- Maintain confidentiality and apply HIPAA and medical privacy regulations to prevent unauthorized disclosure
- Maintain working knowledge of company and facility software and follow codes of conduct and policies
- Manage and safeguard patient health records for compliance and accuracy
- Prepare and organize new patient charts using paper and/or electronic health records
- Assemble records in standard order and ensure they’re accurate, complete, and properly documented
- Create digital images of documents for storage in the electronic medical record
- Retrieve and transmit records internally and to external sources as appropriate
- Handle inbound and outbound calls and support walk-ins when needed
- Assist with admin tasks such as faxes, mail handling, and data entry
- Meet site-specific productivity expectations and communicate volume or site issues to your manager
- Support additional duties as assigned, including scheduling pick-ups when required
What You Need
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer proficiency and strong data entry skills
- Comfort using phones, fax machines, printers, and general office equipment
- Professional written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong attention to detail and quality for accurate, compliant records handling
- Ability to organize work, manage multiple tasks, and respond to changing priorities with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, request-driven environment
- Flexibility to work overtime during peak seasons when required
- Ability to commute between locations as needed
