Overview
The Functional Owner is a critical role on PowerSchool’s Finance Operations team, supporting key process improvements, acquisition integration, and technology projects across the department. The role is key to identifying, driving, and implementing performance improvements for the Finance Operations organization. The Functional Owner’s efforts bring about gains in process efficiency and effectiveness, supports the Finance Operations service delivery model, and builds the infrastructure to support the growth and scalability of the organization.
This role has the overall responsibility for planning, delivering, and driving multiple concurrent projects, with sub-projects of varying scope and size, impacting process, policy and/or technology. The individual in this role must be able to work within large, multi-disciplinary teams to monitor milestones and deliverables, manage complex projects to projected completion dates, effectively communicate progress, and draw upon established relationships to build cross-functional teams that will achieve results.

Improve existing process performance
Periodically present to Leadership the current state of improvement and opportunities
Identify and recommend opportunities to improve business processes
Develop, deploy, and manage business processes
Develop project plans, artifacts, and tools to monitor assigned projects and communicate progress to stakeholders
Lead stakeholder interviews, requirements gathering and working sessions
Define business requirements and recommend a technical approach to meet those needs
May lead, plan and/or conduct the design and/or testing phases
Oversee the development, testing and implementation of the technical solution and validates the final product satisfies defined requirements
Review technical documentation, such as user guides, training manuals and system specifications, prior to distribution to end-users and ensures the subject area is accurately represented
Lead M&A efforts for the department
Work cross-functionally to identify, solve problems, and implement changes
Define, implement, and monitor metrics
Liaise between the Finance Operations and cross functional teams on technical projects
Communicate clearly with senior level stakeholders and effectively present solutions

Qualifications include:
Minimum 7-8 years’ experience managing complex operational projects required
College degree in business administration, computer science, finance, accounting, or information systems, preferred
Understanding of core Transactional Finance processes; including Accounts Payable, Payroll, and/or Order-To-Cash functions (Order Management, Accounts Receivable, Revenue, and Cash Applications)
Established project management skills, from requirements gathering to implementation
Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills
Demonstrated system administrator level knowledge of NetSuite and/or Salesforce
Proven ability to work across various functions, interact with leaders and colleagues at all levels
Displays teamwork, ownership, initiative, and leadership
Highly self-motivated, with an ability to exercise independent judgment
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
Deadline focused, results-oriented approach
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to consume, arrange, and effectively communicate information
Strong customer service focus
Accounting and/or Finance Operations experience preferred

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $104,500-$120,000. The compensation range is specific to the United States and incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
