The Opportunity
We are looking for a First Party Medical Processor. As a First Party Medical Processor, you’ll play a critical role in enforcing the fundamental fairness values on which our company was founded. You’ll be asked to push the boundaries of what’s required and to think critically as to what our customers want and to how that best aligns with our product. By collecting information, making recommendations for claims processes to iterate towards automation and further develop our app features, you’ll be helping to build and enhance an entirely new insurance experience from the ground up. This role is vital to Root’s success as we continue to grow rapidly and is largely responsible for our bottom line.
Root is a “work where it works best” company. Meaning we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US. We will continue to have our headquarters in Columbus and offices in other locations to give more flexibility and more choice about how we live and work.
Salary Range: $40,000 – $45,000
How You Will Make an Impact
- Handles a variety of administrative tasks to support the PIP/MPC Adjusters
- Working claim related administrative tasks
- Issuing payment for 1st party medical bills
- Creating, sending and receiving documents and electronic communications
- Handling inbound and outbound phone calls with relevant claim participants
- Responds to claim correspondence in a timely fashion with very high quality
- Interacts and communicates effectively with customers, peers, vendors, and managers
- Engages in learning opportunities to build knowledge of personal lines claims
- As the team continues to grow and evolve, we expect the assigned duties to shift along with gains in efficiencies and workflows.
What You Will Need to Succeed
- High school diploma/GED required
- Successful history of effective time management, multi-tasking, and customer-facing communication
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
- High sense of professionalism while remaining empathetic
- Great attention to detail
- Ability to approach problems with an open mind
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships with internal and external customers
- Communicates and collaborates effectively in a matrixed environment
- Self-starter and the ability to work independently
- Ability to handle ambiguity and quickly adapt when changes occur
