Schedule
- Start date: January 12, 2026 (you must be able to start on this day)
- Full time, remote role
- Monday through Friday, any assigned 8 hour shift between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. CST
- Training: first 4 weeks, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT
- PTO during training is limited and must be approved in advance
What You’ll Do
- Answer member questions by phone and chat about eligibility, benefits, open enrollment, plan selection, claims, ID cards, grievances and appeals
- Help members find providers and facilities, focusing on both cost and quality for medical, dental, and vision plans
- Support members with spending accounts, pharmacy questions, disability benefits, rewards, incentives, and durable medical equipment orders
- Research and connect members to community resources and additional support services
- Coordinate resolution of issues with providers, payers, and third parties for claim adjustments, grievances, appeals, utilization management, and complex account questions
- Provide proactive care guidance, including reminders about care gaps, exams and tests, and health assessments
- Educate members on their health plan design and how to use their benefits effectively
- Refer members to clinical nurse advocates or other care management programs when medical needs are more complex
- Accurately document all interactions in internal systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
What You Need
- High school diploma or GED
- One of the following:
- A two year degree in healthcare or health sciences, or
- Equivalent healthcare experience, ideally helping members navigate benefits and claims, or
- Experience in a related role such as Health Advocate or Navigator, Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, PCT, Nursing Assistant, Medical Coder, Dental Assistant, or similar
- Previous customer service experience in a healthcare contact center, provider office, or healthcare setting
- Proven ability to handle sensitive or escalated member issues with patience and professionalism
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clear typing, grammar, and spelling
- Comfort using multiple systems and tools while talking or chatting with members
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and adapt to changing priorities
- Working knowledge of health insurance basics, including benefits, claims, and pharmacy is a plus
