Enrollment Coach

Student Success is hiring for remote, work from home opportunities with immediate availability and schedules that offer flexibility.   

Choosing the right school and the right program is more difficult today than it has ever been.  The variety of institutions, programs, and modalities is growing and the process to enroll can be complex.  Enrollment Coaches support prospective students who are seeking information about institutions, their programs, and the process of application and enrollment. Through phone or web-based meetings, Enrollment Coaches lead consultative coaching sessions with prospective students to determine the “why” behind their interest, understand their motivations and needs, connect them with valuable resources, and lead them through the steps of enrollment.  Our institutional partners count on Enrollment Coaches to be an extension of their own enrollment departments and to help meet student enrollment targets.   

Our coaching teams serve as a seamless extension of the colleges and universities they serve. As a representative of our higher education clients, you will engage with students and collaborate with on-campus staff to achieve institutional goals.  

Position responsibilities:  

  • Successfully converting inquiries through the application and enrollment process 
  • Maintaining contact with a pipeline of prospects, providing proactive guidance, and driving actions that produce results 
  • Explaining educational programs, admissions processes, expected graduate outcomes, student services, and financial considerations to prospective students and/or parents 
  • Scheduling and conducting virtual information sessions with prospective students, identifying and recruiting qualified candidates, and determining appropriateness of candidates for admissions, based on career goal compatibility  
  • Overcoming objections to applying or completing enrollment 
  • Gathering and recording relevant qualitative insights from prospective conversations that lead to overall trends 
  • Consistently conducting follow-up meetings with applicants to ensure progress through the admissions process 
  • Collaborating with on-campus departments to assure students receive support they need related to financial aid, orientation, academic advising, and tutoring, and career counseling.  Staying current on school’s procedures, policies, etc. to ensure potential students have current and accurate information.  Communicating any changes as needed 
  • Recording all communication and contact data in a timely manner with accuracy including detailed notes into the Customer Relationship Management tool provided (Salesforce) 
  • Meeting department goals for phone productivity, applicant contact, enrollment targets, withdrawal rates, call quality, customer satisfaction, customer loyalty, attendance, and schedule adherence 
  • Ensuring compliance and adherence to ethical standards related to student recruitment practices 

The Candidate: 

Requirements:  

  • At least 1 year of sales experience, preferably in an educational environment 
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed established performance goals/key success metrics 
  • Possesses an interest in helping others achieve their educational and career goals  
  • Additional experience in sales or marketing 
  • Experience nurturing a prospect pipeline from point of interest through completion of necessary benchmarks 
  • Proficient in using communication technologies, including databases, email, phone, and instant messaging 
  • Your home workspace must have DSL, Cable, or Fiber Internet that is hardwired into a modem/router via Ethernet  
  • Minimum download speed 15 Mbps. Minimum upload speed 5 Mbps and Ping less than 100 ms (Dial up, Wireless, or Satellite internet service cannot be used)  
  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet place to work  
  • Ability to take inbound (voice) phone calls in a conversation-heavy environment 

Qualifications: 

  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills   
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate successful results 
  • Strong relationship building capabilities through various methods including phone, email, and text 
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Personable, enthusiastic, assertive, dependable, and self-motivated 
  • Must be able to adapt quickly in a changing work environment 
  • Strong multitasking and analytical skills 
  • Must be willing and able to work some evening and weekend hours and be flexible to adjust schedule as needed to best meet student needs and availability 
  • Coachable 

Preferred skills/qualifications: 

  • Some secondary education, or combination of relevant experience and education will be considered 
  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Experience serving in a higher education institution  
  • Experience using Salesforce.com

Pay rate is $17/hour. We use national and industry-specific survey data to assist in determining compensation. Additionally, we consider factors such as external market rate, budget for the role, and the compensation rates of current employees performing the same function. Some roles will have variable pay.
