DoD VLS Content Reviewer

The College of Education and Human Ecology (EHE) at The Ohio State University is looking for a DoD VLS Content Reviewer to support the Department of Defense Virtual Lab School team within the Department of Human Sciences.
The DoD VLS Content Reviewer will be responsible for reviewing existing content, activities, and related materials on the VLS website and identifying all relevant spaces that may need adjusted to align with our stakeholders’ current guidance and policies. The primary responsibility of this position will be reviewing all elements within assigned courses, following the prescribed review template, tracking systems, and guidance developed by the VLS content team. The DoD VLS Content Reviewer will thoroughly review all assigned courses including all lessons, activities, course summaries, course objectives, end of course assessments, competency reflections, graphics, videos and video scripts and document all identified spaces. Additionally, this will include identifying maintenance and improvement opportunities, such as identifying typos, grammar or punctuation edits, and broken links with the assigned content.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in child development or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the related field.
- Prior experience reviewing and editing previously developed content
- Basic knowledge of evidence-based research and best practices in child development
- Skills using appropriate office automation technology and software such as Microsoft Teams, One Drive, Word and Excel
Desired Experience
The selected candidate for this position will have demonstrated success in several areas, including:
- A PhD in an appropriate area or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Extensive knowledge of and/or experience working in early childhood development, childcare and preschool settings.
- Prior experience writing and editing academic papers.
- Skills in using appropriate office automation technology and software such as Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
- Prior experience developing child or adolescent development or family science/family systems training content for adult learners
- Knowledge of evidence-based research and best practices in child/human development
- Prior experience developing and editing online training content or online coursework for adult learners
The DoD VLS Content Reviewer reports to the Associate Director of Professional Development & Training. This position will work directly with Associate Director of Professional Development & Training and Lead Content Specialist for the VLS to achieve the specific deliverables of this position. This is a temporary, remote position. Should the selected candidate prefer to work in the office, they will be provided with a cubicle and relevant office materials.
