Job Description:
Ability to work from home or in office in Meridian, Idaho!
The Disability Processor I reviews and determines eligibility of disability claims under the client’s short-term disability plan. They accurately calculate benefit amounts and communicates claim status to claimant. As well, they provide superior customer service to claimants calling in.
$13.26/hour plus an extensive benefits and compensation package!
Key Functions
- Review and determine eligibility of disability claims under client’s short-term disability plan.
- Obtain necessary supporting documentation by using telephone and written contact with claimant and authorized personnel at employment.
- Utilize appropriate applications to determine benefit eligibility, compensation rate and expected recovery period.
- Calculate benefit payments and apply applicable offsets
- Process benefits on a weekly basis and adhere to strict payroll submission deadlines
- Assists incoming callers with questions regarding short-term disability benefits, claims status, and eligibility.
- Adhere to internal guidelines on referring claim to medical review team
- Documents and communicates claim information
- Provide daily/weekly updates to client on claim status
- Adhere to industry and client specific turnaround times
- Available to work some holidays, occasional weekday, and weekend overtime
- Performs other duties as assigned to ensure individual and group goals are achieved with Accuracy, Customer Service and Timely Turnaround.
Experience and Skills:
- High school degree, or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Demonstrated excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy Rule
- Knowledge of medical and dental terminology.
- Experience taking continuous inbound calls.
