  • SEC Reporting – Financial Statement, Footnotes, MD&A, and Pro Formas Preparation

What Work You Will be Responsible For:  

  • As a Director in our Technical Accounting Advisory Services, you will provide various accounting advisory services including, but not limited to, IPO and M&A Readiness, Transaction Accounting Advisory, Technical Accounting Research & Position Papers, SEC Compliance & Financial Reporting.
  • Lead and/or support a team of professionals to deliver consulting services to multiple client relationships as they navigate complex technical accounting and financial reporting events; participate in all stages of engagements including planning, field work, engagement wrap up and deliverable composition.
  • Write accounting white papers, draft financial statements (footnotes) and other client deliverables ensuring general accounting standards are applied appropriately.
  • Independently provide conclusions and recommendations on application of complex accounting guidance to clients and external parties, as requested by the client.
  • Independently facilitate calls with the client teams, client auditors, client legal counsel, etc. as deemed necessary to accomplish project goals.
  • Has a strong desire to build on relationships with clients and contacts and aligned with the revenue growth plans of the Firm and the practice.
  • Take ownership of the engagements while managing upward and downward expectations to ensure deadlines are met and project stays on budget.
  • Have strong coaching and team management skills, as well as the desire to mentor more junior staff, as needed.          

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent field. 
  • 11+ years of experience working for a public accounting firm, including at least 3 years in accounting advisory.
  • Proven experience and interest in technical accounting matters, such as IPO/SPAC, ASC 480, 606, 718, 805 or 815, as well as SEC reporting.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

  • CPA license preferred.
  • Strong understanding of FASB, US GAAP, and SEC rules and regulations.
  • Excellent consulting, influencing, and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of an organization with a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience preparing financial statements and footnotes.
  • Exposure to IFRS to US GAAP (vice versa) conversions, and SEC reporting.
  • Successful record of working and delivering on multiple, simultaneous engagements with varying complexities.
  • Capable of managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously while working independently and within a group environment
  • Robust written and verbal communication skills, including ability to adapt style and messaging to effectively communicate with professionals at all levels both within the client organization and the Firm.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, with a focus on details and accuracy
  • This position is remote but ability to travel as needed for firm meetings and client site visits.
