The Role:
Director of Revenue Cycle Management
We are searching for a Director of Revenue Cycle Management who is passionate and knowledgeable about best practices in health plan billing, accounts receivable management, and excited to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment. With our continued growth, this Director of Revenue Cycle Management will bring their expertise to Hazel’s unique clinical delivery model and implement new processes as we scale, including leading our continued technology advancement for revenue cycle.
The Director of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for managing the timely and accurate submission, processing, and payment recording of Hazel’s health plan claims to state Medicaid programs, Managed Medicaid, Commercial and Government payers. The Director will ensure overall revenue cycle performance including strategic planning, analysis, and continuous quality and productivity improvements of the team. The Director of Revenue Cycle Management will be accountable for key company revenue cycle metrics as well as fostering a team atmosphere between both internal and external stakeholders. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement strategies, processes, and technology to manage and continuously improve the Revenue Cycle by increasing claim processing productivity, decreasing denials, reducing days in A/R, and increasing collections.
- Report and manage key Revenue Cycle metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, including Accounts Receivable, claim processing velocity, rejections and denials, and team productivity.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for all health plan billing, coding, and revenue collection processes and issues.
- Manage the Billing team to ensure aligned priorities, high productivity and quality, and performance to company-wide targets.
- Serve as the superuser and administrator for the billing system, including managing enhancements and new feature development.
- Identify and lead both internal and cross-functional strategy & process improvements to enable greater scalability, efficiency and accuracy of RCM processes.
- Conduct data analysis to identify key trends, areas of quality improvement, and opportunities for increased revenue capture.
- Communicate effectively and work cross-functionally with executives and peers across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.

Minimum Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree is preferred
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management
- Experience with multi-state Medicaid and commercial billing
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of pediatric care delivery, particularly state Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care organizations
- Experience with implementing and managing electronic RCM systems (Apero experience preferred)
- Experience with telehealth/virtual care and mental health revenue cycle management
