A Day in the Life

We seek a motivated IBP Director to serve as the process lead for the behavior improvement and process adherence across the 5 step IBP process. This role will ensure project execution across all 5 steps to achieve our IBP roadmap. The IBP Director will have the responsibility to improve the Executive step, initiating and executing process improvements to achieve a world-class IBP process implementation across Medtronic. You will partner closely with the business unit leadership teams, and IBP leads to define and continuously improve standard processes and systems.

As the IBP Director, you will lead the global Design of Integrated Business Planning (IBP). To achieve our goals and maintain a standard for workflows and process capabilities. You will have a small team of employees reporting to you.

As the IBP Director, you will:

  • Develop metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators to drive improvement in the planning process for future improvement opportunities, including cost and benefit analyses.
  • Develop the IBP roadmap and drive the successful execution of the actions.
  • Analyze, develop, and implement long-term strategies that enable best-in-class business plans and decisions.
  • Develop and maintain standard processes, RACIs, and how-to guides supporting the financial step in the IBP process, which is integrated into the other IBP process steps.
  • Drive adoption of standard processes and systems through education/training and influencing.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional problem solving (A3/DMAIC) to address systemic issues and horizontally deploy improvements pan-Medtronic.  Build a maturity assessment approach and implement interventions to drive improvement.
  • Build commitment to the solution through engagement and influence with next-level leaders and key stakeholder groups, communicating outcomes to the team.

Must-Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant financial or supply chain planning and process improvement experience with 7+ years of managerial experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience

Nice to Have

  • Superior project management skills, including leading and running cross-functional teams and programs.
  • Expert knowledge of supply chain planning processes.
  • Mastery in Planning Systems (Blue Yonder, SAP, Anaplan, Hyperion, BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, change management, stakeholder engagement, and influence experience.
  • Strong business acumen – understanding different commercial operating models.
  • Experience strategizing and implementing process improvement across a matrixed organization.
  • Experience deploying new systems and processes
  • Innovative & proactive with a continuous improvement mindset 
  • Proven ability to interact and effectively communicate with Executive management and all levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills and solid negotiation and facilitator skills to reach consensus, buy-in, and commitment across multiple functions.
  • Coaching mindset with the ability to drive employee engagement, inclusion, and development
  • Lean Sigma Green or Black Belt with a familiarity with the DMAIC process.

 Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$168,800.00 – $253,200.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
