SUMMARY: 

This position is responsible for all campus-based military and veteran new student recruitment and retention. The Director provides vision, leadership, strategic direction and support to each South University Campus leading to the enrollment of new military and veteran students. Works directly with each Campus Director/DOAAO, Outreach Director and Admissions Team to exceed budgeted campus enrollment of military and veteran new students. Supports and models the South University Mission, Vision and Core Values.

KEY JOB ELEMENTS:

1. Recruitment:

  • Partner with each campuses Admissions team and others to learn the recruitment process and ensure goals and strategies align with the overall recruitment targets.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reach out to military veterans and active-duty service members and their families.
  • Organize and participate in recruitment events, job fairs, and informational sessions.

2. Liaison with Military and Veteran Organizations:

  • Build and maintain relationships with military and veteran organizations in all campus communities to facilitate collaboration and referral of prospective students.
  • Stay updated on military benefits and educational programs to provide accurate information.

3. Outreach:

  • Develop workshops and processes tailored to the needs of veteran students, such as transition assistance, academic advising, and career planning.
  • Collaborate with community partners to expand South University’s engagement with military and veteran-friendly organizations.

4. Other duties as assigned.  

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of increasingly successful experience in military and veteran student recruitment
  • Demonstrated experience as a member of a high performing recruitment team
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Good general business knowledge and ability to effectively supervise and lead a staff of professionals with or without reporting lines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills on both an individual and group basis
  • Effective problem resolution skills.
