As a Customer Service Lead at Community Health Systems – Shared Services Center, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our purpose to help people get well and live healthier by providing safe, quality healthcare, and building enduring relationships with our patients, and providing value for the people and communities we serve. The Customer Service Lead position is remote and full time, which is 40 hours per week. Orientation is Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm CST for approximately one week. After orientation, the training hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm CST for approximately three weeks. After training, your normal working hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm AZ MST (Arizona MST Time Zone). 

Required Experience:

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a medical facility, ambulatory surgery facility, or acute-care hospital. Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 and medical terminology

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs all duties as a Customer Service Representative I. II and Escalation Specialist. Handles and/or de-esclates complex calls professionally with dignity and respect. Responds to telephone inquiries within (24) hours of the following scheduled work day in a manner that addresses the needs of the caller. (40%)
  • Functions as the point person for staff in the assigned area to provide guidance and support. (10%)
  • Provides initial on-the-job training to new staff and remedial training to existing staff. (10%)
  • Observes new staff during training period, making recommendations to supervisor and/or manager for additional training needs. Clearly documents conversations with internal /external customers and action taken on accounts. (10%)
  • Completes QA on employees to identify areas of opportunity. (10%)
  • Displays competency in health care billing requirements/follow up. Maintains current knowledge regarding assigned/related areas by keeping up to date on communication, newsletters and resources. (10%)
  • Works with minimal supervision and can operate independently on most tasks. (10%)
  • This is a fully remote opportunity.
