Employer: The Everygirl
We’re looking to add new voices to The Everygirl’s Culture section—our hub for all things entertainment. Can you identify The Internet’s next favorite series by the trailer alone? Or are you the friend who can launch into a 10-minute speech on why that one scene will forever be cemented in entertainment history? If you’re an entertainment writer with an eye for the buzzworthy, we want to hear from you!
We’re looking to add creative, diverse, passionate, and knowledgeable writers to our team. As a Culture writer for The Everygirl, you’ll be asked to pitch and write content across a variety of pop culture topics. We’re specifically looking for writers who can provide unique perspectives and insight for the following categories:
- Movies & TV
- Music
- Books
- Podcasts
REQUIREMENTS:
- A strong understanding of The Everygirl’s brand and coverage
- A strong comprehension of AP Style and grammar and ability to follow The Everygirl Media Group Style Guide
- Experience writing about entertainment

- Be available to pitch and write 2+ articles a month
- Be comfortable with Google Docs
COMPENSATION:
All articles are paid. Rates will be outlined and agreed upon when pitches are approved.
TO APPLY:
Submit a copy of your cover letter pasted in the body of the email to [email protected]. The subject of the email should be “Culture Writer – your name.” The cover letter should include a little bit about yourself and the specific areas of interest and expertise you bring to the table. It should also include the category (or categories) you’d like to write for (including genres and properties you can cover).
Within your application, include the following in the body of the email with links. These can be links to your portfolio website, dropbox folder, or google drive folder. If using dropbox or google drive, please make sure the link is not private. Attachments will not be reviewed or considered.
- 1-3 links to writing samples
- 3-5 pitches for potential articles; a pitch includes a headline and 1-3 sentences detailing what the article will be about
- A note on pitches: We love round-ups, but our writers will be called on to contribute in-depth analysis, reviews, and opinions on trending properties (or the good stuff no one is talking about… yet). A successful pitch will be engaging, unique, and focused.
