Schedule
Part time, contractor
Remote (not available to applicants located in California)
Writing volume: 1+ articles per day, up to several days per week (varies)
Coverage windows needed (AZ time)
- Monday–Friday: 4:30 AM–1:00 PM
- Saturday: after 5:00 PM
- Sunday: 4:30 AM–12:00 PM
What You’ll Do
- Write news articles for conservative readers with a subtle conservative and/or Christian voice
- Isolate a compelling angle from assigned topics and source material
- Research and verify facts beyond the provided source
- Produce stories that are at least 340 words and 17 paragraphs
- Cover current events including US elections, domestic and international affairs, and cultural issues
- Fact-check statements, data, and claims before publishing
- Accept editor feedback and revise quickly while maintaining accuracy and clarity
- Work inside a CMS (WordPress experience helps)
What You Need
- Strong writing, grammar, and communication skills
- Ability to hit deadlines consistently
- Interest in news, current events, and politics
- Availability for weekend work (as needed)
- Adaptability in a fast-moving editorial environment
- AP Style knowledge (plus)
- Prior newsroom, online outlet, or print writing experience (plus)
- WordPress or similar CMS experience (plus)
- No vaccination requirement (as stated in posting)
