Shift options: 11:00 AM–7:00 PM EST or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM PST (8 hours + 30-minute unpaid lunch)

What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot telehealth claims in Athena while following coding guidelines, payer rules, and regulatory standards
- Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits prior to appointments
- Help patients understand financial responsibility and payment options
- Manage and collect patient accounts receivable (AR), including follow-up on balances, denials, and unpaid claims
- Support billing audits and reviews to spot discrepancies, errors, and revenue-impacting trends
- Coordinate with payers and third-party vendors to resolve disputes and improve reimbursement outcomes
- Track KPIs and internal billing metrics tied to revenue cycle performance
- Partner cross-functionally to improve patient experience, optimize RCM workflows, and streamline billing operations
What You Need
- 2–3 years of medical billing and coding experience
- 2–3 years of patient AR collections experience
- Experience using Athena (or similar billing platform) for statements, payment plans, and balance negotiations
- Solid working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Familiarity with Zendesk or similar customer support tools
- Detail-driven, solution-focused approach (you like fixing messy billing problems)
- Telehealth billing experience strongly preferred
