Schedule
• Fully remote
• Contract role
• Monday to Friday shift options: 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM EST or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM PST (includes 30 minute unpaid lunch)
• Must be authorized to work in the US with no current or future sponsorship needs

What You’ll Do
• Troubleshoot telehealth claims in Athena to ensure accurate billing and compliance with coding guidelines, payer rules, and regulations
• Partner with clinical teams to verify coverage, eligibility, and benefits prior to appointments
• Help patients understand financial responsibility and available payment options
• Manage and collect patient accounts receivable, including follow-up on balances, denials, and outstanding claims
• Participate in audits and reviews to identify billing trends, errors, and revenue cycle risks
• Work with payers and third-party vendors to resolve disputes and improve reimbursement outcomes
• Track and adhere to KPIs related to billing and revenue cycle performance
• Contribute to cross-functional projects that improve patient experience and streamline RCM workflows

What You Need
• 2–3 years of medical billing and coding experience
• 2–3 years of patient AR collections experience
• Experience with Athena (or similar platform) including statements, payment plans, and balance negotiation
• Strong knowledge of medical billing processes and CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS guidelines
• Familiarity with Zendesk or customer support platforms
• Telehealth billing experience (strongly preferred)
• Detail oriented, solutions focused, and comfortable in a fast paced environment
