The Consultant III, Innovative Design partners with function leaders and teams to guide work on innovative design initiatives to develop and support a continuous improvement culture throughout the organization, including process improvement and new initiatives. Experience with Lean Start Ups and/or Open Innovation desired. The incumbent performs specialized, complex, and multi-dimensional continuous improvement work. The Consultant III, Innovative Design collaborates closely with teams to prepare, conduct, consult, facilitate, and manage process improvement projects and training to advance organizational outcomes and mission fulfillment. This role will be responsible for the design and launch of an internal Innovation Hub.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Creates tracking and visualizations of KPIs and performance metrics to support functional outcomes.
- Provides project and change management support around tactical and strategic implementation for assigned functions.
- Works with function leaders to collaboratively identify process improvement opportunities through quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Works with leaders to identify project metrics and produce reports on the impact of improvement efforts.
- Uses appropriate measurement, analysis, and evaluation methods to accurately monitor, evaluate, and document continuous improvement progress and results.
- Produces data visualizations that are easily consumable and create buy-in and actionable insights.
- Influences leaders with data-driven insights while maintaining objectivity.
- Works with function leaders to develop, roll out, and socialize Key Process Indicators throughout the organization.
- Incorporates Human Centered Design principles, into process improvement efforts to ensure resulting work is inclusive and recognizes the value of all stakeholders and perspectives.
- Develops, delivers, and evaluates entry-level to advanced course content for continuous improvement training utilizing delivery methods, plans, and evaluation tools that are rooted in the principles of adult learning theory.
- Participates in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they arise.
- Creates knowledge management tools, processes, and platforms to bring transparency and collaboration to innovation within the organization.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required, a master’s degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated three years of experience in project management, change management, leading organizational change initiatives, process improvement, or implementing continuous improvement interventions is required, relevant certifications are strongly preferred.
- Experience in Lean Startups and/or Open Innovation preferred.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and presenting qualitative and quantitative data to support data-driven decisions is required.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing research techniques and data analytics, including basic data visualization is required.
- Demonstrated experience leading change management principles with the ability to implement and drive change is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint is required.
- Demonstrated experience creating professional communications including technical writing and executive reports is required.
